Indy Monumental Marathon 2022

Hometown Marathon
The Indianapolis Monumental Marathon was our first marathon where we were able to build out Team Humbly Courageous and see our vision come to life in our hometown. With over 50 teammates, we were able to raise money to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association and run alongside some amazing people who supported us that day. It was a day when dreams came true and immeasurably touched our hearts.

Circle City
This was Jamie’s 5th time running this race, but the first time with Amy. In the 2015 Monumental Marathon during Jamie’s first marathon ever, it was the first time he noticed someone pushing another person in a duo bike. He remembers the training he went through just to prepare himself for a marathon and there right next to him was someone pushing another person in the race. And the thought hit him on how amazing it would be if he could do this with Amy one day. By 2019, that became a reality in Chicago. To race at our hometown marathon was a full circle moment, in the Circle City no less with family and friends. Weather this day would prove to be a challenge with strong headwinds on the back half and occasional rain throughout, but this one has been our best finish time to date. (Finish time 3:11:31)

Race Highlights
Meeting before this race for a group photo, prayer and encouragement was amazing. We all circled around Amy and lifted each other up for what would be a first half or full marathon for some. Also special to us was that our two boys would be joining us for this race but our youngest ended up being too ill to run that day. Regardless, many of the teammates were running friends we had met through our many years with Body in Training Track Club and Noblesville Schools.
